A Sound Golf Swing
Having a great golf swing is all about good rotation. Throughout the swing you need to keep the club in front of your body. To do this in perfect motion, rotate the club head, hand, and chest in synchronization. Visualize an imaginary dot on the club head, on the hands and mid chest region. When you start to swing, imagine that you are following those three dots at the same rate of rotation.
Golf Tips : Driving
When driving the golf ball, the most common error that golfers make is trying to hit it as hard as possible. There are a few tips listed below that will fix this and the reason why the progress of many golfers gets hindered. One myth that many golfers believe is that the harder you hit the ball the more it will travel. To overcome this is a problem, since scientifically this statement is true but there are a few unique variables that defy these in golf.
The first variable is that the ball is teed up very low. This has had an influence more recently due to the size of driver heads. In the past, the size of the clubfaces and club heads were much smaller and so the sweet spot was smaller too, if a higher tee height was required the drivers heads were not big enough. The golf thumb rule says that in order for the top half of the ball to be above the clubface in starting position on the ground when the club is resting, it is important to tee the ball up. So with a bigger club head to achieve the top half ratio the ball will have to be teed higher. This ensures that the ball is struck with the midpoint of the club head.

Positioning the hands close to the body during setup is another variable that below-average drivers have a tendency to do. It promotes follow-throughs, back swings, up-and-down and vertical shots, but also limits a few. A ball on the edge of a circle i.e. on the swing arc of the club is more likely to travel faster than a ball in the middle of the circle. So it is important to keep the club head farther away from the body ensuring that the ball travels faster and more power in the drive. When playing the back swing most golfers lift their front foot and this at times leads to a reversal in the weight shift to the front. In a snap-hook or shank, keeping a strong front foot on the back swing will help in getting the coil position and generates more power for the drive. This is because a well-placed front foot promotes a proper shoulder and hip turn. It is important to shift the weight to the back when making the turn.
Incorrect ball position also affects the power when taking a drive. The ball set up too close or far from the stance limits the power. If the ball is positioned far behind the stance taken, the ball will be struck on the downswing and result in a bad drive.
