A Sound Golf Swing
Having a great golf swing is all about good rotation. Throughout the swing you need to keep the club in front of your body. To do this in perfect motion, rotate the club head, hand, and chest in synchronization. Visualize an imaginary dot on the club head, on the hands and mid chest region. When you start to swing, imagine that you are following those three dots at the same rate of rotation.
Golf Tip : Shank
When a golfer makes contact with the ball other than with the clubface it is called a Shank. That would be a pretty bad miss-hit. Whiffing, Dubbed, Topping, Bladding and Fats hot are other ways of producing a missed hit. The Shank is a missed hit ball off the clubface. The four most common reasons for generating missed hit balls are incorrect club grip, inappropriate swing dynamics, and wrong distance from the ball and when taking the swing, the golfer's head is not down. Any professional golfer would never want a shank to because of poor concentration when taking the swing. The shank is an easy problem to resolve in golf. In order to do this, keep in mind the basics, slow down and concentrate on the shot to be taken. Returning to the basics and correcting the shank is all about taking the proper stance, using the correct swing technique and learning the right grip
The complete method to correct the shank is detailed below along with an alternative method
Shank ball
When making a swing the aim is to return the club to the same position, as when the clubface made contact with the ball initially. Having a correct club setup can ensure this is eliminated and comparing the ball to the clubface ensures a better swing.
Once this has been setup, the golfer has to check his weight distribution. If the golfer is leaning back in his stance, in order to counter-balance this he will shift his weight to the toes. Because of this, in all probability the clubface gets farther away from the body on the downswing with a stronger possibility of the hosel making contact with the ball and results in a shank.
Aim the ball; the swing for the ball and not where you would like the ball to land. Most golfers focus on hitting the center of the ball and this results in shanks most of the time. To overcome this issue, try and hit the inside of the ball or imagine that there is a ball inside the ball. This method has helped in curing the shank.
Impact tape is the first requirement and is available in most golf shops or stores for a reasonable price. The impact tape should be put on the iron that has the most worn hosel. Follow the usual club setup routine; however line up the ball on the hosel instead of putting the ball in the middle of the clubface.
